Life’s not worth living
If lived for self.
‘Tis hollow mockery.
‘Tis not worth living,
‘Tis wasted time,
And ends in misery. Life is worth living
If but for this:
To praise Him for His grace,
And then the giving
Of His blest Word,
That some may see, His face.

There’s no real living
Apart from Him
Who gave Himself for us.
The joy of giving
Is known to those
Who bow at Jesus’ cross.
